We'd love to have photos of people wearing our t-shirts added to the site. And the great thing is, we get a portion of the profits for everything that is purchased!!

Keep Voting Daily for us in The Animal Rescue Site $100,000 Shelter Challenge

Don't forget to continue voting for us DAILY in the Shelter Challenge on The Animal Rescue site. Go to www.theanimalrescuesite.com and after you click on the purple button that provides food to shelter animals, click on the "Vote Now" box on the page that comes up. Look for us and vote!!! At last glance, we were at number 64 and were ahead of several organizations in Ohio that are much bigger than us. We may be small but we are mighty!! So let's try to move into the top 10 in Ohio before July 26 when voting ends.

SOS, Shelter Outreach Services Opens

Shelter Outreach Services of Ohio or SOS, a nonprofit veterinary clinic dedicated to providing affordable, high quality spay and neuter services to shelters, rescues, and low income families, recently opened its clinic at 691 East Dublin Granville Road. They will be open for business on Tuesdays through Fridays from 8 a. m. to 6 pm. Appointments are necessary except for feral cats. You can take a feral cat in until 3 p.m. and they will get it spayed or neutered by the time they close that day. This open door policy allows caretakers to trap cats in the morning and still get them in the same day for surgery in order to reduce the stress of being trapped and handled. Our Annual Garage Sale is coming July 16-19 in Plain City

Don't forget to join us from Thursday, July 16 to Sunday, July 19 during the 60th Annual Miami Valley Steam Threshers Show and Reunion in Pastime Park in Plain City for our Third Annual Garage Sale. The Steam Threshers Show features John Deere tractors and the Oil Field Engine Society this year. We will be featuring lots of excellent bargains and treasures. If you have items you would like to donate, please contact Carol Gaul at 614-419-1553 or by email at cgaul1@columbus.rr.com Pastime Park is located off of US Route 42 in Plain City. Our yard sale will be held at Carol's house as it backs up to the park. We will get started around 9 each day and will end as customers dwindle. To find Carol, mapquest 176 Anderson Avenue in Plain City (if you are not a local). All of the proceeds from the sale will help us spay and neuter area kitties. This is a big fundraiser for us, so please come out and support us and the kitties!!

Zen Cat Gallery

We had a really nice phone call and email from Victoria at Zen Cat Gallery , an art gallery "dedicated to increasing positive visibility for cats through art and products that reflect beauty." They also have a "Feline Assistance Fund" which they use to support local organizations that help cats. They are working at "providing avenues for connection in the feline community as well as supporting feline welfare." Please go to their web site and check out all their cool stuff. In the Gallery you can see lots of beautiful artwork that is for sale and then purchase buttons and t-shirts and lots of other cat themed merchandise in their Store . They have something unique and charming for any cat lover in your life--and you will also be supporting a good cause with your purchase!!

We could use your old Cat Carriers!!

If you have some older cat carriers or even metal dog crates (or larger plastic dog carriers) that you are no longer using, please think about donating them to us. We go through a ton of carriers for our spay and neuter clinics. Since many of the people we work with are very poor, they often do not have carriers to transport their cats to the clinics. We lend carriers out all the time and often do not get them back. So if you have any that you no longer need, please consider donating them to help other cats make that all important vet trip to get spayed or neutered. Another thing to consider is watching out for used carriers at Yard Sales this summer. You can often get them for a few dollars and we would definitely appreciate your thoughtfulness. All donations are tax deductible since we are a charitable organization. Thank you in advance.

Plain City Animal Lover makes handcrafted Dog and Cat themed Jewelry

Monica Slota, owner and creator of Buckeye Clayworks in Plain City, makes gorgeous dog and cat jewelry, handcrafted beads, and Buckeye necklaces, earrings, and bracelets for all the Ohio State fans in the crowd.
